Saying goodbye.

It has been quiet and emotional around our home lately. I haven't felt much like writing. I feel sad and somewhat void. My husbands grandfather passed away last week. We lost our PaPa! He was 90 years old, a World War 2 veteran, a brother, a father, a grandfather, a great grandfather, a sweet, strong and hard working man. Saying goodbye is never easy. He will forever be cherished and missed. We love you, PaPa. Rest in peace.

  1. Oh, Diane...I am so sorry. Please give your husband my prayers also. xo

I lost my grandmother last summer and it was very hard on me. It's a strange feeling knowing that whole generation of my family was gone and I moved up one. But 90 years....way to go!!!

sending a hug and prayers your way ~

  2. I'm so sorry, Diane. But what a tribute to your husband's grandfather that his passing had this effect on you. It means that he truly was a vital part of your life and will be missed. And that means that he was worthy of it. My father too was a WW II vet and we lost him in 2001.

Tell your husband that his grandfather had a good face. I'm sure he will have many good memories of him.

    1. Thanks, Dewena. We will forever miss him. He was a huge part of our life and we do have lots of great memories and wonderful pictures. My husband has many stories and we are so grateful for the time we have had with him. This picture is one of my favorite. I took it about 5 years ago.

Thanks for you kind words. xoxo
